Hi all, I recently acquired a 68 GT Fastback that a PO had started a restoration on before letting it go. The driver's side floor has a corner cut out near the toe board that had rusted, and before I patch it I need to figure out how to route the parking brake cable through the floor. I've scoured the Ford shop manuals but can't find a picture or diagram of where the cable actually penetrates the floor before attaching to the parking brake mechanism.  Any of you guys have a picture of this area that you can share?

thanks,
Stuart

Hi Stuart,
I had my interior apart a few years ago, these may help.  Here's the brake cable & speedo cable exit points.  There's a plate that covers the speedo cable that's removed in the pic below.  I had drawn a rough outline of the edges on the floor.

Here is with the plate installed

Note the brake cable leaving pedal assy. near top corner of carpet.
