U-Haul shows a trailer hitch available for purchase for the '72-up Ranchero, but not the Gran Torino wagon, even though I believe it's the same frame. Does anyone here have the U-Haul hitch on a Ranchero, and if so, is it possible to get pictures of how it mounts up, particularly regarding where it bolts to the frame? The wagon has a footwell between the frame rails for the optional rear-facing seat, and it looks tight, but the Ranchero puts the gas tank there, and I don't know how tight that fit is. I downloaded the install manual, but it has no photos or illustrations in it -- text only.
Thanks in advance.

I have been on this forum a long time and I don't know that I have ever seen anyone post pics of a hitch on a Ranchero. I guess you couldn't purchase it and return if it doesn't fit? Maybe Todd (aquartlow) who's a member of the Ranchero community might know if that forum has any info on hitches?

I have one on my last 73 Ranchero, but they mounted it with the receiver through the bumper, just in the space where the license plate goes. So mine is likely a modified assembly, I looked at it enough to plan for altering the pin hole larger to allow a common hitch/license plate accessory. I would prefer the receiver to be rearward slightly and allow a plate to go there more normally. So mine isn't a good example of a hitch on the Ranchero.
