Can anyone tell me about the emblem that is correct for a '71 GT convertible with hideaway headlights? It looks like it's round but not the same as a '70. A picture??? Thanks!!

OK Dave and John. I'll get the car out and get some pic's up this weekend. BUT..... Here is my problem. I have the original set of '65 thru '72 Ford car parts books. The books show a different part # for a '70 and '71. I found new reproduction units and inserts at Mac's and Dearborn Classics, but is noted that it is for a '70 only! What is the difference?

i'm not that familiar with the older torinos, i know a guy that is, he lives in town here about 2 miles from me , i've been hoping to run into him and see if he'll join up here! his knowledge would be beneficial, as another guy near by has a 68? fastback torino 428cj i'll try to get him on here to! i just try to help as i can! (hell i'm still learning differences in the 72-76 cars usually the hard way )

The 71 uses a vertical center emblem that has GT stacked on top of each other like the round one.

That is cool, and it's just begging for some back lighting with LED's.

I thought the same thing when I saw the new one pictured on the 1971 image. Specifically on the "G" and "T".
