Hey hows it goin, I have a 1970 Ford Torino gt, originally came with a 351W and its auto, im guessing a c6?? It currently has no drive train (thats why I got it so cheap hahah)
I want to put a 460 in there.
OPTION 1
I found a 1977 F250 2WD with a 460 and c6 and it only has 150,000 miles on it. Its at the wrecking yard.
I feel this mileage is perfect for a hone job and re ring kit, vs a complete rebuild. I also get the matching c6 to the engine, kinda 2 birds with 1 stone.
So if I where to take this engine and trans out of the 250, what do I need to take with me for my swap?? I'm gonna lose the exhaust manifolds because I want to go with headers.
This engine was a 4bbl, but someone already took the 4 barrel manifold off, looks very recent because the inside of this thing was clean!
any input on this would be highly apprectiated.
OPTION 2 I found some late 80's F250's with a 460's, they of course where EFI. I was wondering if I can just bolt on an eddy intake and carb??
Also does anyone know if these later F250's had the c6 in them?? I forgot to check.
--------- I took a picture of 1 of the trucks valve train on 1 head. Looks a little orange, but seems clean, cant recall if the orange meant it overheated.
the truck was an 80's F250.

i'm not real sure on that newer stuff, but i'd think you can go with a manifold and carb, and i believe around the late 80's-early 90's they had overdrive auto trannys? someone else may know more for sure

late 80s should be a C6. Just make sure it's a 2wd trans.

Well I went ahead and grabbed the one out of the '77 truck.
I'm super stoked on it because I have reason to believe it all works!
The cylinder walls still showed signs of cross hatching and the tranny inside and torque converter look new! I'm very happy with the purchase.
Not sure whether to put new gaskets on or a re ring kit and a hone. I'll talk to my machinist about it. I'll post some pics later.

I have a 460 and C6 in my 70. If you need pictures or additional info, measurements, just PM me. You may need to buy the special headers for the car if not using stock manifolds.
