tried to tighten the ball joint to day. Found out you can't without any weight on the car.

try putting a floor jack under the edge of the arm by the ball joint, and lift enough to smack down on the edge of the spindle! the ball joint shaft should grab on the taper.

Thanks to Dave I have scored a mustang oil pan.Major problem solved.Now to find a sway bar.
