Your are correct. The guy I bought it from installed a jazz fuel cell.It rusted out due to moisture between cell and shell.I just wonder if I replace it with a alm.one would same thing happen.

Posted By: californiajohnny
Date Posted: 13-December-2015 at 1:33PM
if i'm understanding this correctly, you have a plastic fuel cell inside the metal tank, if it's sealed for the gas, can't you drill a small 1/4" hole or two in the metal tank to let moisture drain out???(before you put in a new cell)

cut out the rear end,now to find someone to help remove it.Then I can clean it up and put the 3.23 in it.Still have not found a shop near by that can change the axle to 5 by 4.5

many years ago i had my 4 lug monza axles redrilled to 5 lug Big smile
they did an excellent job! cleaned and retrued all the surfaces, shipped them back in like a week! just make sure you specify stock lug studs or you'll get those 4" long racing studs Shocked

Ready to put the cowl back on.There are 32 spot welds along the window area.should I glue it or attempt to weld it again.I am not a pro. welder. My concern is structure.

Posted By: californiajohnny

did you only drill the outer cowl piece regarding the spot welds? i'd weld it back in the spot weld hole, that's often referred to as "plug welding"

Next question anyone know were to find body measurements for body panels. I am replacing right inner fender,on unabody (sp)car it should have been part of sub frame. What I want is distance between fenders and some cross measurement from one side to other.

It is better to put bondo over clean metal, not primer.

Clean metal, but it can be used over epoxy primers (DP-90, etc.)

80 grit on a DA sander is fine you don't have to use a grinder unless to remove rust, 80 grit is enough "tooth" for the bondo to adhere to Wink

There are some rims for sale for a good price, but they most likely have a 5x4.75 bolt pattern. Maybe you can have the bolt pattern drilled to a 5x4.50 bolt pattern. If you want to see them https://newjersey.craigslist.org/wto/5442465508.html" rel="nofollow - Click here.

$3,000 or best offer. Nice cloth original seats, nice interior period, clean under the hood, has the original wheels as well. A late model 305 hp Ford V6 would be ideal in this car.

Yep, it is a 1980 model. I really like that little car.

Bob, there are no JY anywhere that still have older vehicles. Everyone crushed them all when scrap reached $15/100# last year. I would say to scour Search Tempest online to see if anyone has Pinto parts. Unfortunately, these were 2 years only, and most were hit in the front or are long-gone.

Are they pressurized or just friction energy absorbers? Ford used both at different times.
