reworking a 68 differential, was told that black Gloss was not the original color, if so, looking for 2k semi-gloss or satin, Eastwood has satin, no semi=gloss. also how to find the red rust color for the pinion end of the differential, i believe that is the stock color.

I believe the housing was painted/protected with satin black, the center section paint is red oxide.

thanks for the SEM tip, I had forgotten about them. we have a local store that carries that. It sounds like Satin is the paint to use on the Diff.

I used a satin black, and Rustolium red oxide primer.  Then the pinion yoke flat silver, or there are a number of silver colors that are close.
