just my opinion..., in my experience dual points were more of a pain in the ass than anything

ok..gotcha. But, I would like to keep the car as original as possible.
Anyway,.. would a single points distributor suffice? Those seem easier to get....

Thanks...

do you have one now, what's the part number on it?

good luck finding "a new dual points distributor for a 73 GTS 351cj 4sp" today!

guys search long & hard, as in years /decades for a decent example at a reasonable price.

what's a reasonable price?about 1 year ago this one with a D1 number was given away at only $500
https://www.7173mustangs.com/thread-fs-nos-1971-boss-351-distributor-in-original-box

i've seen asking prices 5x that and more Shocked

and Yes they're a major PITA. i played with an Accel dual point for a while, the best advice i got other than to get rid of it was to set both points to .020" and plugs to .030", like a lawn mower. best it ever ran but still not as good as a single point and nowhere in the ballpark of an aftermarket points eliminator module like Pertronix (hint hint wink wink nudge nudge say no more)

Oh, and watch out for the fakes! probably more fakes for sale than genuine, there was maybe a
couple guys ID'd selling counterfeit re-stamps not long ago and refused refunds when confronted.

FWIW i always recommend getting the dwell dead on with a meter,

using feeler blades or wire gauges to gap is very inconsistent

If you want a stock look, a Pertonix is your best bet.  It's cheap, and pretty reliable, and no one will notice it's not stock.  Being in Denmark, you might want to order two, and have one as a backup.
If you don't care about keeping it stock looking, then there are better options, like DuraSpark, or a GM HEI module with a DuraSpark distributor, as well as lots of aftermarket stuff.

you can retro-fit the Duraspark top section into the original housing too

and Duraspark can still use the small conventional style cap & wires,
it doesn't have to use the large diameter cap

here's a recurve tutorial that shows the break-down / assy
