Anyone have a preferred "go-to" brand or type of touch up paint that could be recommended?
I got a spray can of Original Factory Touch Up Paint from Paintscratch.com for some minor spots on the firewall, around door hinges and on the cowl where factory paint had flaked off. Bought one can of 1972 Ford Dark Blue Poly (3-H/Y) which I thought would be the closest to the Dark Blue Metallic (paint code 3-H) that my car came with. Boy I was wrong...looks way too bright. I am applying over grey primer...I'm not a painter and was just trying to do a quick job before things get out of hand. Not even close...

Anyway, I'm just looking to get something that blends fairly well that you wouldn't really notice from say 10 ft.

Thanks again folks, this forum is an invaluable resource and I do appreciate all the feedback I get.

I just go to a body shop paint supply store and have them make paint for me. They can then tweak it to get it to match if you bring a part as a sample. You can usually get it in a aerosol spray can, or in a can if you want to spray it with your own gun.

Thanks Vince, that can be accomplished. Wished I had asked before wasting time with the online paint.

I was disappointed in what paintscratch.com sent me as well for Black Jade (way to dark).  I tried expresspaint.com and had a good match with them.  Possibly an option if the body shop path doesn't pan out.
