  On a '75 460, is the factory intake a spread-bore or a square-bore design?

Also, how much of an improvement over the factory manifold is there if I switch to an aftermarket unit, like an 'Edlebrock Performer'?

Square.. Ask me how I know.. I used a 74 460(D4LF) carb on my 76 torino 351w w/weiand intake.. I would believe the 75 was the same.. As far as the swap on the 351w the carb had a choke stove & electric choke assist but the weiand intake didn't have a provision for the choke stove.. The weiand intake also had a generic mount pattern for the throttle bracket..I only used 1 bolt to attach original bracket.. To be quit honest I believe this carb was to large for the engine as I never did get the engine to run real good..You can see the set-up if you look in the classified ads under Pics of 76 parts car. Also on page 2.. Its differant than the 76 parts car ad.. Its pics of 76 parts car

75'S went to a spreadbore 4350 motorcraft carb, which ultimately got replaced by Holley's from an early TSB from Ford. Also some 74 460's had Thermoquads on them, I have one in my stash unfortunately is no good. The Ford fix was a kit that had a small spacer and the Holley carb to replace the 4350. 4350's had a bad problem with a plug by the filter inlet blowing out and dumping gas all over!!
