This is probably a lay-up for some, but I'm stumped. My C6 has a number 24 cast on top of the bell housing. Just curious if anyone knows what it signifies, can't find anything online...thanks.

I don't know and have never seen anything that says what it means. Does yours have the partial vin stamped in it? Mine did.

Used to see raised numbers cast on C4 and C6 when wrenching at Aamco in the early 80s.. Probably others but never thought much of it. There is a good farcebook C4 C6 group that may have an answer.

Vince - nope, no partial VIN stamped on it from what I can tell. Only other markings are chalk markings from the assembly line workers. Oh well, I may try the facebook group. Thanks folks
