I just purchased a 1970 Torino GT convertible. The previous owner lowered the car with springs. It has 17" wheels in the front and 18" in the rear. He put Wildwood disc front and back. I like the look of the wheels, but want to raise the front some, Presently the height from the ground to the center of the wheel well is 22". Can someone measure a stock Torino height so I have some reference point.

Thanks, my 70 is only 22" inches some of these cars are 27" inches. Is the wheel well design different on the 72

1970-71 are the same

1972 is a 1 year only

1973-76 are the same

1977-79.5 are different again as far as the outer fender skins go but 1972-79.5 all share the same inner tub so the lip itself is likely the same for measuring but won't translate to your 1970

Sorry I'm late to the game. I cut my coil springs on my '70 this summer to drop it about an inch, it currently measures 26.25". It was a tad above 27" before.

Good Morning, I was reading your post and saw that your front ride height was 27 inches before you cut the springs. My 70GT's 429 w/ac front springs were cut by the previous owner an is now 24.25 inches. The rear leaf's are sagged out. Rear height is 23.5 inches. I like the stance of my car, but it is too low and the car bottoms out because the spring are shot and drives like a marsh mellow. If you think that the rear of your car is near factory ride height, could you let me now what the measurement is of the rear. I intend on replacing both front and rear springs with new ones from Eaton. I'm collecting data now before I purchase them. If you now of any other 70, 71 Gt's, if possible could you measure the ride heights for me. If anyone else is reading this, please chime in. Thanks Steve C.
