Okay I know this sounds dumb but I'm having issues installing my headlights on my 1971 torino base model. I know I'm installing them right since I successfully reinstalled the old lights it had, but after picking up 2 different types of headlights I ordered from O'Reillys I wasn't able to install either of them. Also I have no real car knowledge. This is my first ever project car. Any type of help is thanked. These are the 2 different headlights I got.

Can you better describe what is giving the issue. Hi Beams and Hi/Low beams cannot be switched; there are also locating dimples on the headlights..this is a diagram from a GTO, but should give you further insight...

I didn't know there was a difference between the lowbeam and hibeam headlight bracket. I will try installing the headlight onto a different bracket next time. I think I might of been trying to install the hi-beam headlight onto a low-beam headlight bracket.  Also thanks for the quick response, I really appreciate  it.

The high beam lights, which only have two terminals, go on the inside.  The Hi/Lo beam bulbs, which have three terminals go on the outside.  I assume you were able to get the retaining rings off okay?  Lots of people mistakenly use the headlight adjustment screws in error.

I somehow managed to get it right without knowing the highbeams go on the inside. I appreciate all the help, thank you.
