Does anyone have a 73 GTSS that was painted with special blue paint, no paint code on my Marti Report. I also just learned that special painted cars top face on the bumper was not painted, it carries non painted material (color was silver). I think I threw this question out once before on the paint.

Send us a photo of your door tag and we can help you to decifer the color code. Most pertinent information is there along with the vin number.

My 72 was special order paint and did not have a paint code on the door tag, build sheet, or marti report. The painter and I figured out it was most likely a 73 color, but not being sure we chose a couple of original paint locations and had a computer match made, and then tweaked the result to match  perfectly.

Never settled in on an exact code. (It wasn't important to me enough to chase a chip color match, as much as it was important to chase a car match.)

They use a special camera to come up with a mix, which they feed into a mixer, they mix it up, and we took it and sprayed a couple of sample cards to compare to the car. If too light, we ask them to darken, if too red, we ask for less, if the flake isn't right, we ask them to adjust.

In my case, it was a mixture of mix 2 with mix 3 that brought it in line. (There are videos on my project thread that shows the flop check (making sure color is right for all light angles), and the final match on the jam blend video).
