Hey guys, my name Tazz Sharif from Canada now residing elsewhere. Im glad to be part of this forum. I recently bought this 1973 Gran Torino body without an engine. Its along way for me to hit the road with this. Honestly not a big fan of the 73 front with the big bumper, I really like the 1970 front and style and was hoping if it will fit the 73? Thank you.

Completely different car for all intents and purposes. I've owned both, 1973 is a body-on-frame car and 1970 is unibody. I'm not going to say it isn't doable, as I'm sure a welder/fabricator could manage to do it. But it's going to be a significant amount of design and work. More then what the average DIY type will ever accomplish. |

I'd be mighty surprised if it would work. The 1970 is a unit-body while the 1972-up is body-on-frame. Also the 1972-up cars are a few inches wider. If you have really good fabrication skills, you can probably custom build it, but it's not like putting a 1972 nose on a 1973 car, where you just have to cut off the 1973 bumper mounts to the frame and weld on 1972 mounts, and then bolt on the fenders, hood, grille, etc. If you are able to custom build this, or have the money to pay someone to do it, I'd love to see the final result. You can get kind of close to the 1970 look by bolting on the nose of a 1972 base model Torino:  ------------- 1972 Gran Torino station wagon, light blue, 351C 2V, prior owner upgraded to 4V (2V heads), originally had a C4 but prior owner changed to C6 for some reason. |

Welcome aboard! Like others said, the 1970 parts will definitely not fit without serious fabrication. Post some pics of your '73, we'd like to see it. On the other hand, swapping a 1972 front end is much easier, if you can find the parts. The 1972 parts are not easy to find, and the base model as shown above is even more rare.
