It looks like John "Handsofstone" 1972 GTS is for sale again.  It is listed on FB in the private group in Ohio:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/grantorino1972/" rel="nofollow - Ford Gran Torino 1972 (Muscle Car)

The current owner seems to be a little vague on the price, other than saying it would be around $50K, which I think is a bit rich for this car. It looks like he's done some work to clean up the car since he bought it including freshening up the engine and engine bay. It does not have a correct interior, rather one from newer what appears to be 1974 or newer Torino.

Here is John's old project thread:

The new owner claims it is a rebuilt 400, but I am not sure if it was rebuilt again or not.  He has a pic of the engine pulled but maybe that was to detail it. I thought when John had it, the engine had already been rebuilt. I assume it's stock spec other than the Eddy intake and 4bbl. Too bad they didn't invest in some TMI pistons and a mild cam.

I saw that over the weekend too. Looks like a sharp car and I like the paint, but the seller being super vague with little details and posting only one picture, didn't seem like much of a sales post and more of a scam or attention grabber. Seller is supposedly in Columbus OH, a few hours from me, which is why it caught my attention. That and the deep blue color, I assume that isn't stock paint.

I read through John's thread and searched on here a bit, but what's the backstory on it? Did John crash it or did he buy it crashed? And then he sold it after repair or sold it as a project?

I figured it would show up here eventually.
The engine had less than 500 miles on it when I bought it. There were no oil leaks so it was most likely pulled to clean up the bay.
The paint was a Daywoo color that was an option on Mercedes cars.
It was solid but uncomfortable on any long trips. One of the reasons I sold it. Too old and broken to do the work myself and I admit the modern extras in my GT make getting back into old iron seem like kryptonite. Lol
I think the owner is high if he expect to get even $30K but there is an ass for every seat.
My kid still hasn't forgiven me for selling it.

I agreed to buy it when leaving a place in Arizona that was selling a brown 72 sport that was a dumpster fire waiting to happen. When I called the seller after we had agreed to wait on a phone call to make a deal, he informed me it was now on ebay. I was pissed but whatever.
After agreeing on a price he played the bidding game and got another $1k from me.
It was crashed when I bought it and came with lots of parts to fix it.
My project thread explains it all pretty well.
Hogfiddles has all the leftovers I never used.

It looks to me as if the engine was yanked to paint it dark blue. I hope he replaced the pump seal on the C6 just because it is one less headache yo deal with later.

It needed a new heater core and the A/C evap(?) while in there. A couple of pics are from my project thread.
