what is the difference between a mustang 2 and a reg 302 oil pan.I want to lower my motor in the pinto but the sway bar is in the way.Told I need a mustang oil pan?

The difference will be whether it is a front sump, or rear sump.Mustang 2 and fox body Mustangs used a rear sump. 1973 and older were front sump.

would a mustang be smaller than reg. Mine is a front sump,large deep part in front.

fox body have double hump pan with two drain plugs.large in rear small in front,believe the pumps to be the same,but pickup are different.

mustang II is a front sump.
