Took the Cougar the New England Summer Nationals in CT this past weekend. Good time overall. Had a mobile dyno set up, I decided to give it a shot. 3 pulls for 80bucks.

Best was 272/357 out of a pretty stock/mild 460.

Here's the link to the video of the first pull. I don't think the guy revved it much past 4000.

Atleast there's brake dust on the wheels now. And not just dust. :couch:

Did not want to blow his dyno rig apart like that mustang video going around....
In all reality though you pulled almost twice over a stock351!

OK, so I understand that you have a stock one with this  power. Thumbs Up

My 75 engine got a new carb, intake manifold, cams, pistons and headers. And I computed ~260 RWHP from my ET. I plan to dyno it in the end of the summer.

What loss should be calculated for a C6?

If a nearly stock 460 can make that kind of RWHP, then my thoughts on Big Blocks might be changing.

Not to step on his toes, but that engine isn't stock...

Paul is right.
It's not *stock*, but far from a race car motor.

To my knowledge:
Stock c9 block. .030 over
Iron rods
Forged Pistons
Mild street cam
Edelbrock Performer intake (not RPM)
Holley 3310 (stock calibration)
5.0 Mustang Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner with tubing/ducts
c9 heads.. exhaust bumps removed
roller rockers
Hooker super comps 1 7/8", 3" collector
3" X pipe (cat-less) into sh*tty 2.5" borla pro xs mufflers (inside of muffler is actually 2.25") and 2.5" tails
3.0:1 non working posi rear
mark viii electric fan WOAH!!!
wide ratio c6 trans
lares quick ratio steering box

The only things that have changed since Paul had it: Exhaust, and air cleaner, and gear ratio.

I know some of that isn't performance, but that's everything I can think of.
Paul, chime in if I forgot anything.

Oh, when Paul had this in his truck, it put down 257@4600 and 331@3500

If I calculated correctly (which I THINK I did...) it looks like 272@4200 and 357@3450 for the dyno I just did.

Granted they're different dynos, but it seems exhaust makes a difference. I'd love to go down to the place he had the truck done. Just to compare.

Nice engine. Thumbs Up

Do you know what loss should be computed for the C6? 25-30%? If you would like to know the engine power?

I'd say 20-22%, seems to be what people are figuring for a c6/9" on 460ford. I think a 4wd is closer to 30%

Wow. This was a little over a year ago now. I'm currently running a different exhaust. I'm kindof curious to see if there will be any power differences.
