The June 2023 Ride of the Month is longtime GTS Member Shane Folsom's 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport fastback.

Shane recently found this very cool 1972 GTS that is a true barn find.  It was built in Oakville Ontario originally equipped with a Q-code 351CJ, 4-speed, Rallye Equipment Group (which included competition suspension, gauge package, G70-14 tires), 3.25 open diff, Power Steering and Brakes, black vinyl top, rim blow steering wheel, tinted glass, visibility group and magnum 500 wheels.  The car was originally painted medium yellow but has since been repainted black.  The car was also being run on the New England drag way back in the 90s and has a roll bar and hood gauges for racing.

Shane has been working on the car and got the engine running recently.  He plans to continue the project which will include replacing the roof skin.

Check out Shane's project thread here and subscribe to follow the progress of the project.

Thanks guys! I have replaced the roof on the car and decided to replace the floors as well.  The previous owner had replaced them and did a horrible job so I figured since I replacing the roof, may as well do the floors too.  I have been working on it slowly.  I have been finishing up my brothers 71 Torino with him and that goes in for inspection on 6/20.  I will post some progress photos!!!

The floors are being fit into place and then will be welded in.  I have both pans in place now.
I wasnt going to paint it but now with the roof and hood needed paint plus a couple other areas it will get painted.  Going to stay with black!

The July 2023 Ride of the Month is longtime GTS Member John Steinberger's "BackInBlack"1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport fastback.

John's Torino has been a long term project on our forum, and he dubbed his project Street/Track build.  John's Torino was built with this theme in mind.  John's Torino started out as a clean rust free but relatively sedate car.  He has since performed numerous upgrades to the engine, custom exahust, a Tremec TKX 5-speed swap, a custom orange with black stripes paint job and some low profile tires and wheels.

John's workmanship and fabrication skills are top notch.  He was one of the first on our forum to swap in a Tremec and he outlines the fab work involved.  John still plans to build a high revving high horsepower 351C and do further suspension mods.

Check out John's project thread here and subscribe to follow the progress of the project.

Here are some pics of John's Torino.

This is how the car started out:

Here is how it looks today:
