The phone number is 405-283-2851 and they are located in Oklahoma. Just call that number and ask for Steve, he's the one that sets up the systems and does the special order set ups. Also, I didn't ask him but the female end I measured had a sleeve on it, be nice if Steve could set up a sleeve end for our purposes.

Just ordered a set of these, talked to Steve and he is putting a sleeve on a 12 inch female end, he also said the kit comes with 4 90 degree brackets which can be bent to 130 degrees for the female end attachment which should make the angle correct to sit alongside the seat right. Also the cost he gave me was $302.59 for this set up with a 4 week delivery date. Also for r9b2 Steve said you can order the female end separately with or without the sleeve if you want the shorter length.

Keep us posted Dave. If you take lots of detailed install pics, we could to a "How-to" post. I can help you put the post together as long as you take lots of pics.

Is yours a 72? This configuration looks entirely different than the one on my fastback.

I talked to Steve today and learned a few things.
Nice guy. If going with his set up and installing a new carpet don't bother cutting holes in the carpet for the seatbelt buzzer and warning light. They won't work with the new set up. If you want the rear to match the new front belt set he can re-web the rear retractors and install the newer ends to them so that you can replace the receiver ends for the back seat as well.

Guys, I wanted to follow up on this post.
Getting ready to go on hot rod Powertour, and seat belts came back to mind. I’m sure it got put on another thread but given the design on the B pillar for the GTS hardtops…is there remotely enough structure on the 72-73 GTS to possibly adapt Fox Body front seat belts and bolt to the B pillar using a reinforcement plate? I just reviewed crash test footage on YouTube yet again and cringe over the crash test dummies eating the dash. The 2:08 mark especially is brutal. |

It does look like the seat belts turned a likely low-injury crash into head trauma. But it looks like those belts don't have automatic locking mechanisms, so they let the dummy's body move. Any modern belt would have that mechanism.
You could get a belt with an extender pivot point and use the anchor point for the original shoulder belt the car came with. Then you wouldn't need to drill any holes or anything.

I'm sorry to say I failed to do a follow up on this topic, I did install the belts from seatbelt planet and used all the original mounting points with Seatbelt Planet supplied brackets. If I remember correctly I did have to bend one or both of the brackets to make them mount correctly. They have been functioning very well and the only thing to note is what was earlier stated by r9b2 the retractor is noticeably more sensitive than factory ones but once you get used to the difference it's not a big problem. I did take pictures during my install but can't seem to locate them currently, if I do I will post them up. Also I did get the shorter 12 inch female side which is a good fit for bucket seats. All in all the quality of the product is great and Steve was extremely helpful to work with.

This is great Dave, thank you very much for posting. I have long thought about upgrading my belts too as the two piece OEM belts are awful. Do you have an pictures of the how you mounted the shoulder belts? And maybe a pic of the whole seat/setup? Did you have the OEM belts in the rear or did you update them too?

Here's a few more photos. I used the existing roof anchor point for the upper seat belt bracket and the angle seems to work fine. The rest of the pictures show the seat belt placement on me and it feels comfortable in this position. I am 5'11" and mid 190 lbs. The seat is in the furthest back position. I have not done anything with the rear seat yet and just have the original lap belts there. Access to the back seat is easiest by pulling the belt all the way out of the retractor and holding the belt forward when stepping in which is fairly easy to do.

Thank you very much Dave! Those pics are exactly what I was looking for. Those belts seem to work really well for our cars, so I think I will add it to the list of upgrades for my car. One more question. Does the belt set come with that extension piece that bolts to the ceiling of the car? |

Vince, it does come with the extension piece and if you do get the belts make sure you order the bracket set 950001, that's the combo that was recommended by Steve at Seatbelt Planet. Also it would be best to talk to Steve when ordering to decide whether you want the 12 inch female end and with or without the sleeve, the sleeve works really well with the buckets and the 12 inch length is just right in my opinion.
