Also quick question. I'm looking to buy new headers for the 408 setup and was curious if any one knows of a 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" primary that will fit these cars?

I'm running a 480lb springs out front currently with I believe 220's out back. I think I want to step it up a bit in the future though. The QA1 12 way ajustable shocks I have in now are absolutly amazing and would definatly recommend them. I can change my ride from a sloppy mess to a setting so stiff I dont even think my springs are even working.
Thanks for the info

I still stand by my.
"big rims, small tires" poly bushings, big sway bars, small block springs (with a big block) and bilstein shocks. The car is between my Z24 and my Truck for handling. |

As far as the coils...what rate are you running.
I know personally from dealing with a few guys, these cars need all the spring you can get.
Talking 700-850 pound rate springs...but be forewarned too much, and you got yourself a dump truck ride.
Sway bars, you got it pretty much handled, front bar flip to bac works.
Book from a place called MRE has info on the fab to put a front bar out back, but it's pretty basic.
Have a good one

I'm sure the body roll would be greatly minimised if I just ran a 1 1/8 with a 7/8 but I just wanted to see what was out there before I thow down the money. I think I'll probably just grab a 1 1/8 now and chuck my current front bar on the rear. |

Custom. Weld some brackets to the rear axle, and to the frame. Fab up some endlinks.
I'm surprised at the body roll you have.. I run the big 1 1/8" bar and the addco 7/8" rear bar and it's damn near flat. Then again, I run 17" rims with 50 series tires. |

Thanks, I'll look into this. Is it more of a custom fab job or direct bolt in?

You could adapt a front bar to the rear if you wanted to tighten it up.

Hey, I have a 79' LTD II that I'm currently in the process of building. I'm Stabbing in a 408 stroker and tko 5 speed in it to replace my built 302 and c4. Just Curious if anyone has managed to chuck in a cable operated clutch setup or if I'm stuck going hydraulic?
Also, I like taking corners in this beast and am quite confident in the car. I currently have a fresh Saginaw box, all new steering parts, stiffer springs, QA1 ajustable shocks and poly bushings thoughout. The only problem I have is the body roll with my current setup of a small 1" front sway bar. I'm curious if there is anything bigger I can use than a 1 1/8 front, and 7/8 rear I see online.
Thanks in advance
