There seems to be two different T/S switch assemblies for Torino - Mustang - Ford, 
late 60's early 70's. This is for non-tilt columns. One has the two horn contacts about 1/2-in apart, 
the other has those two contacts about 2 inches apart.

Are these two assemblies functionally equivalent / interchangeable ?

 dont recall seeing any 2" apart?
 the ones 1/2" apart are for the gran torinos... it positive power in and positive power out to the horn NO relay!

I just pulled a few common pictures off the internet searching for Mustang and/or Torino turn signal switch.

 the one on the right are the 72-79 torino and similar cars the wider one would have different copper circles on the back of the wheel

note: if you're using a custom grant wheel and adapter with the small plastic horn button use the two wires and remove the brass side ground by pulling it out some and clipping it off! as it will ground these use positive in and out as i stated ( had mine short out while under the dash working on it Shocked realizing i swapped a new grant horn button forgetting to clop it off on the new one)

Thanks John. Have you ever worked with a Grant wheel and a later column? I know they will easily bolt on to tons of year models, I'm wondering if some adapter can be used to also maintain the cruise control wires up through the adapter?

I'd like to keep the CC wires but have them come out the side from the adapter/top, to use the wires for added CC buttons onto the wheel. I like the Grant 405 wheel which is not bad directly from them, about $120 or so.

The one on the left came in my 73 Torino wagen. In both assemblies the horn posts
are actually equidistant from the center.
The assembly on the right just looks more heavy duty to me.
