V8 falcon throttle? HELP!!! |

Ok so I have a 351w in my 67 falcon, AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO!! The car was originally a I6 and I bought a v8 throttle set up for it, and just like everything else, it doesn't fit! Can anyone help me?

what don't fit? is it too short? don't attach to the firewall or pedal? or to the manifold bracket?

Well the motor is so close to the firewall I don't think I can jam it it there, plus if I did mount it I'd have to drill holes for it. And pretty much the same goes for the kick down lever.

I'll check it out tomorrow, and snap some pics, the v8 gas pedal setup I got, it had the original kickdown setup for it attached, and I think maybe if I cut it off I can get it to fit. I haven't tried uet, but I highly doubt it will fit, that motor is in there tight. I don't think the motor can be lowered any and I'm 90% sure I have a c4, but I am no genius at identifying trannys. And the motor mounts were in the trunk, the probably came off of a fairlane, because at one time it had a 351w in it, but nobody ever finished the build.

That is essentially what I did with my 71 F-250 when I added the Edelbrock carb. There is a little flex in the rod, I wish it were larger in diameter (with a reduced size where it fits with linkage), but otherwise a good setup.
I explored other options - with it not being originally set up as a cable actuated throttle, you have limited choices. Lokar makes outstanding products, but a new pedal assembly wasn't for me. Also, most of those pedals are modern looking, like one that I think is shaped like and detailed like a foot. Just not my style. |

pic explains a lot, i was thinking you had a cable type throttle, forgot about the older linkage type. what intake is that? it looks quite tall even for a dual plane manifold

It's a edelbrock rpm air gap, this is the reason why I may need a hood scoop.

Before you drive that on the street, check your throttle linkage for binding/overcentering at wide open throttle and for full throttle opening. The Ford rod-type throttle linkages tend to get geometry issues when modified.
