reworking a 68 differential, was told that black Gloss was not the original color, if so, looking for 2k semi-gloss or satin, Eastwood has satin, no semi=gloss. also how to find the red rust color for the pinion end of the differential, i believe that is the stock color.

Im new to this also but not new to the gran torino. I have a 72 gts 351c 4v 4 speed toploader. But i actually work for a restoration shop in southern California. Look up "vicious" mustang from sema 2016 n the guys who built her is who i work for. If anyone could help u it would be my boss. I believe the housing was painted/protected with satin black, the center section paint is red oxide.

thanks for the SEM tip, I had forgotten about them. we have a local store that carries that. It sounds like Satin is the paint to use on the Diff.

I used a satin black, and Rustolium red oxide primer.  Then the pinion yoke flat silver, or there are a number of silver colors that are close.
