I recently purchased a new tire changer and wheel balancer, so that I could do more of the tire maintenance myself. I researched these extensively and found a wide range of options from low > high priced. I was originally going to go w/ a low end model from Amazon or similar but found the Derek Weaver equipment had a lot of good reviews. I went with the following equipment and with completing my first tire change & balancing, am very pleased with the purchase and end result. Company: Derek Weaver Website: https://www.derekweaver.com/ Customer Service: +, as I was researching units, I contacted their customer service several times and they helped me with all of the questions I had. Delivery: +, very fast, shipping is free. They used Old Dominion and provided free lift-gate service. 1) Tire changer model: Weaver W-898XS Tire Changer / Assist Arm Combo (W-PL240 Power Assist Arm)
2) Tire balancer : Weaver W-937-40 Wheel Balancer
I replaced my first set of tires and balanced them last evening. It was a really easy process. I see where this equipment really simplifies the process and will be working on my next vehicle in the near future. For tires, I ordered through Tire Rack.com; I used them for the Torino and now camper. Very easy to order. |
